   Class Introduction   

K-6 English Vocabulary, Reading & Writing:

Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays: 3:30-5:30 pm

Including 30 mins homework support from teachers.

 

This class will help students build solid vocabulary, reading, and writing skills with different resources. Students will be divided into different groups according to their grades and levels.

K-6 Singapore Math

Mondays/Wednesdays: 3:30-5:30 pm

Including 30 mins homework support from teachers.

 

Singapore consistently ranks at the top in international math testing. The intentional progression of concepts in the Singapore math approach instills a deep understanding of mathematics. Singapore math not only helps students become more successful problem solvers, it helps them gain a sense of confidence and resourcefulness because it insists on conceptual depth. This naturally prepares students to excel in more advanced math.

Spanish

K-3: Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 pm

G4-6: Thursdays 5:30-6:30 pm

 

This Spanish class is designed for students who are interested in Spanish but without any foundation.

Coding - Scratch

Scratch beginner: Wednesdays 1:30-3:00 pm

Scratch advanced: Wednesdays 3:30-5:00 pm

 

Scratch is a visual programming language that allows students to create their own interactive stories, games and animations. As students design Scratch projects, they learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. 

G6-8 English Vocabulary, Reading & Writing:

This course will focus on helping middle school students build solid English foundations in vocabulary, reading, and writing skills. Students will learn academic vocabulary and learn how to develop the critical link between vocabulary and reading comprehension. In this class, you will also learn how to research information, how to form your own opinion and how to unpack related issues that affect your opinions.

G8-12 Academic Essay Writing

Fridays: 4:00-6:00 pm

 

This course offers the opportunity to improve the high school students' essay writing skills with real practice.It takes the students the process from beginning strategies to the proofreading strategy at the end. They will learn about writing a solid thesis as well as excellent supporting sentences and conclusions to create an essay that conveys their meaning and makes the grade.

The New York Times Reading & Writing

G4-6: Mondays 3:30-5:30 pm

G6-8: Wednesdays 4:00-6:00 pm

 

Students who want to strengthen their critical thinking, analysis and writing skills are encouraged to sign up for this course. This course will walk the students through choosing the right reading material, making a reading plan, learning how to read more deeply and critically, and sharing one’s thoughts socially. The course will guide students how to make and interesting personal connections, how to read critically and show their thinking, how to reference specific details or quotes, and how to write in their natural voices and experiment with style, ect.

ISEE Test Prep

English:

ISEE Lower Level English: Tuesdays/Thursdays 3:30-5:30 pm

ISEE Middle Level English:Mondays/Tuesdays 4:00-6:00 pm

ISEE Upper Level English: Thursdays/Fridays 4:00-6:00 pm

Math:

ISEE Math (Middle level), Thursday 4:00-6:00 pm

ISEE Math (Middle level), Fridays 4:00-6:00 pm

The ISEE is the Independent School Entrance Examination, and it’s used for admission to private middle schools and high schools. Most of the private schools request students to provide ISEE test scores to see how strong their academic performance is. The ISEE test includes four sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Mathematics Achievement. The test also contains an unscored essay that is sent to the school they are applying to. 

Which test should I choose?:

ISEE Lower Level: apply to G5-6

ISEE Middle Level: apply to G7-8

ISEE Upper Level: apply to G9-12
