Writing

Utilizing the popular vocabulary series "Wordly Wise",  we deeply integrate reading and writing through theme-based instruction. This approach helps children expand their academic vocabulary, learn the correct use of grammar, and enhance their communication skills, establishing a solid academic foundation!

E.g. Reading and Writing themes for G1-2:

  • January- all about me (new year) and winter, Martin Luther King Jr
EXPOSITORY writing- goals for the new year

  • February-  all about love and life
NARRATIVE writing- history of valentine's day, telling a story about your life

  • March- St. Patrick’s Day and Spring
    DESCRIPTIVE writing- myths and fables

  • April-  Spring (continued), Aprils fool’s day, Easter, Earth Day
PERSUASIVE writing- why should we be kind to earth?

  • May- End of the school year/ start of summer, Mother's Day
    CREATIVE writing

Singapore consistently ranks at the top in international math testing. The intentional progression of concepts in the Singapore math approach instills a deep understanding of mathematics. Singapore math not only helps students become more successful problem solvers, it helps them gain a sense of confidence and resourcefulness because it insists on conceptual depth. This naturally prepares students to excel in more advanced math.
